Explanation

The purpose of this Tribute to Influential Australian Christians website is to provide one form of acknowledgement of the Christian men and women who have contributed to the development of the Australian nation, in which we are now privileged to live.

The people listed on these pages will have achieved more than the brief summary contained herein. Also, there are many more Australian Christians, beyond those listed here, who have (often quietly) achieved so much.

There are obviously issues relating to the definition of the word Christian within these pages. The final adjudication on this matter will be left to one greater than I.

This website may occasionally contain copyrighted material the use of which may not always have been specifically authorised by the copyright owner. At times, this is done to preserve material which may have an otherwise limited life. The material is made available to assist in the understanding of Australia’s Christian heritage and to provide a foundation for further research. It is believed that this constitutes a ‘fair use’ of any such copyrighted material. The full URL has generally been provided to assist in research and to better analyse possible broken links. One method to recover articles which are no longer available is to use the Wayback Machine.

Feed back on broken links would be appreciated so they can be rectified.

WordPress ads
WordPress inserts ads in amongst the atributetoaustralianchristians text. If a domain is purchased from WordPress, they will not run the ads. However (with a purchased domain) if I die and the annual fee is not paid to WordPress, this site is presumably taken down. These ads will pay for the site’s existence in perpetuity.

Seems WordPress inserts the ads only into high volume WordPress sites. (interesting) They are not inserted into WordPress desktop versions, just WordPress mobile sites.

The page, The list of Influential Australian Christians may be good place to start examining this website.

With kindest Christian regards

John Miller

  1. Lesley Kadwell says:

This is a great read, although obviously not all inclusive. Can I suggest 2 additions that come to mind immediately: Owen Shelley dedicated Children’s Missioner who worked tirelessly with SU and Beach Missions. Also the Hon Rev Fred Nile MLC – now 35 years in Parliament standing firmly on the Bible and his Christian convictions, also prominent in organising the Billy Graham Crusade ’59 Crusade and Festival of Light, and Christian Democratic Party among other things.

Editor: Thank you. Owen Shelley and Fred Nile added.
