Commissioner Scipione joined the NSW Police in 1980 beginning a broad, distinguished and highly decorated career. This includes service with the CIB, the Gaming Squad, the National Crime Authority and Counter Terrorism. This culminated in him being appointed NSW Commissioner of Police in 2007. he has been awarded the Australian Police Medal and the National Medal. His comprehensive academic qualifications include a Masters Degree in Management and an honorary Doctor of Letters from Macquarie University. As well as being a highly decorated and respected Policeman, Commander Scipione has a deep commitment to Christ which is expressed in every part of his life.  He is married to Joy and they have three children.
