M.A. Butler – Husband, Father, Grandfather, Friend, Pastor,  Author, Former Director of Word of Life Australia, Herald of  Hope Conference Speaker – has gone Home to glory.

M.A. Butler was born on 29 June 1939 in Shreveport, Louisiana. At 21 he was led to the Lord by Jack Wyrtzen while attending a camp at Word of Life Island at Schroon Lake, N.Y.

At 22, he began Bible college and theological studies at Tennessee Temple University, Chattanooga, Tennessee; and thereafter worked for a number of years for Word of Life Clubs in N.Y.

During this time, he also pastored 3 local churches in the Adirondack Mountains area in N.Y. Pastoring these Churches was one of the greatest joys of his life.

Word of Life Australia (1984 – 1994) – In 1983, Harry Bollback asked M.A. to consider becoming the Director of Word of Life Australia, and thus M.A. and Kay and their young family arrived in this country in July 1984. M.A. served as Director of Word of Life Australia for 10 years.

Herald of Hope (1994 – 2003) – Thereafter he moved to the Lake Macquarie area and filled his schedule with extensive teaching and preaching engagements in Sydney and around Australia, becoming more and more involved with the ministries of Herald of Hope.

“Dad’s greatest love was prophecy and he loved the opportunity to discuss the Lord’s return and the event of the end times, as many of you well know.”

It was while ministering for the Herald of Hope at Nambucca Heads in October 2003 with Pastor Eric Rees they were involved in a triple fatality car accident in which our dear brother M.A. Butler went home to be with the Lord.

Coroner at loss to explain triple fatality
A woman and two men have died while another remains in a serious condition after a head-on collision near Taree, on the state’s mid north coast. The smash occurred around 2.50pm on the Pacific Highway, 8km north of Taree.

From what the Coroner, Mr Bylos can ascertain with the help of police from Taree Crime Unit, a northbound Mitsubishi Magna crossed to the incorrect side of the highway about 2.50pm, 400 metres south of the Croki turnoff.  As a result of the collision, the female passenger of the Mitsubishi was killed after being thrown from the vehicle. The spokeswoman said, “The male driver was killed after the Mitsubishi burst into flames when it crashed into an embankment. “The male passenger of a late model Ford Falcon was killed instantly. “The 66-year-old male driver of the Ford Falcon was trapped in the wreckage, and was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital near Newcastle”.
